This test guides you, it doesn't decide for you: your interests are a very valuable clue, but your abilities, experience and circumstances count too. Based on John L. Holland's RIASEC model. The degrees are examples: what's actually available depends on each university and intake.

    Frequently asked questions

    Questions when choosing a degree

I like lots of things. How do I choose?

That's very normal. Keep the 2 or 3 areas that appeal to you most in the test and look at what you study in each and what jobs they lead to. We talk it through with you and you narrow it down. Also read our guide How to choose a degree.

Can I study something completely different from what I did before?

Yes. Many degrees don't require previous study in the same area, and the Foundation Year exists precisely to prepare you for entry.

How long does a degree last in England?

Normally 3 years, or 4 if you start with a Foundation Year. A master's usually lasts 1 year.

Can I study if I work?

Lots of people do. Some degrees concentrate classes into about 2 days a week. We help you find the ones that fit your timetable.

Am I too old to start?

There's no age limit. People who've just left school study with us, and so do people who haven't studied for many years. Read Studying at 30, 40 or 50.

Availability, timetables and requirements depend on each course and each university. A catalogue page doesn't reserve a place.

Shall we talk about your result?

Tell us what came out in your test and we'll show you courses that suit you.
